Margaret Macpherson is a writer originally from Canada’s Northwest Territories. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from UBC and has worked as an essayist and journalist in Atlantic Canada, Bermuda, Vancouver, and Edmonton. She has published eight books including Tracking the Caribous Queen (winner of the IPPY \Gold Medal for Western Canada Regional Non-fiction and shortlisted for the Alberta Book Publishing Awards for Non-fiction Book of the Year), Body Trade (Winner of the De Beers NorthWords Prize), Released (shortlisted for the Mary Scorer Award for Best Book by a Manitoba Publisher), and Perilous Departures (shortlisted for the Mary Scorer Award for Best Book by a Manitoba Publisher). Margaret lives in Deep River, Ontario.
 
 
Elizabeth J. Haynes was born in Edmonton, Alberta and grew up in Williams Lake and Kamloops, B.C. She studied English, and Creative Writing at Cariboo College (now Thompson Rivers University), the University of Victoria, University of Calgary, the Banff Centre Wired Writing Studio and Booming Ground (UBC). Elizabeth has a Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and English from Western Washington University and a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Washington State University. Elizabeth resides in Calgary where she also works as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She has edited the work of her late father, retired physician Sterling Haynes, also a published writer. ​ Inspired by a trip to Asia in her twenties, Elizabeth has traveled extensively in Europe, Asia, Cuba, where she studied Cuban culture and Spanish, and South and Central America. She has worked as a volunteer Speech-Language Pathologist with CESO in Cebu City, Philippines and Yerevan, Armenia. ​ Elizabeth is influenced by her paternal grandmother, the actress, teacher and co-founder of the Banff School of Fine Arts (Banff Centre), Elizabeth Sterling Haynes. ​
