Port Alberni and Abashiri, Japan, Sister Cities celebrate 32 years of Student/Adult exchanges

The City of PA, SD 70 and community members have worked hard to successfully support cultural exchanges for SD 70 students as well as adults for the last 32 years.  We need new members and invite interested community members including anyone who has gone to Abashiri or has provided a homestay for a student/adult from Japan to join the Port Alberni Sister City Society.  The annual general meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 25th at 2pm at the Alberni Elementary Library. 

Sister City Exchanges:

• Student groups from SD 70 have an opportunity to travel to Abashiri every 2 years
• Adults who are interested to lead future student delegations. 
• A students’ group will travel to Abashiri July of 2019.

**All expenses are the responsibility of the adult/students (no cost while being homestayed in Abashiri).
