Fri, Sep 22nd, 8-10pm, Concert – Montreal’s Michael Reinhart – singer-songwriter, urban folk & finger-style guitar

"Michael Reinhart is quite the Renaissance man – stage designer, artist, composer, photographer, singer/songwriter. He shines in the latter role here, delivering an eloquent collection of quietly haunting and deeply personal folk. His talented accompanists include Jeff Bird (Cowboy Junkies), Noah Zacharin, Alison Wedding, and noted Vancouver cellist Peggy Lee, whose work adds graceful atmospherics, as does violin and accordion. Reinhart's fluent finger-style guitar playing also shines. He is unafraid to stretch out, with many songs pushing six-plus minutes in an hour-plus album. It is all time well-spent."   KERRY DOOLE, NEW CANADIAN MUSIC, May 14 2013.

In 2008, Michael composed the original music score for the award-winning feature film ‘Before Tomorrow’. http://www.isuma.tv/beforetomorrow   His music was also included in the documentary ‘Kiviak vs Canada’, a documentary by renowned director Zacharias Kunuk.  Animation film-maker Masoud Raouf has used Michael’s music twice now in his films.

Reviews:

"It's just one big musical gift of pensive, well-thought out melodies with fascinating lyrics and stirring examples of fine musicianship and song craft."
JOHN APICE, NO DEPRESSION, ROOTS/FOLK, June 28 2013.

"Michael Reinhart makes country-folk sound jazzy on his latest release, Lost & Found... Reinhart is finally gracing Canada with his first solo release, and it's an immensely pleasurable listen."
RANDI BEERS, EXCLAIM! November 18 2011.
